Judit Kedvesi (Head Directress)
Judit Kedvesi is the Head Directress at Triangle Montessori Academy. She graduated from "Apaczai Csere Janos" Teacher Training College in Gyor-Hungary with degrees in pedagogy and music, and has twenty-three years of classroom experience with students ranging from two-and-a-half to fourteen years of age. Judit has two children, Farzan who is a Junior at Duke University, and who was a Montessori child through ninth grade, and Bradley a six year old Montessorian. Judit credits her European schooling for her love of teaching and learning. In 1989, after her family moved to the United States and her first son was born, Judit found herself reflecting on her educational experiences, and the mentor who first introduced her to Montessori theory. She recalled child-sized furniture and the emphasis on the spontaneous activities of the child, and resolved to further her study of pedagogical studies and pursue her Montessori certification. After much research, Judit decided to attend the San Francisco Montessori Teacher Training Center. In 2008, Judit fulfilled a lifelong dream when she opened Triangle Montessori Academy (TMA). At TMA, Judit emphasizes the importance of integrated programs in everyday learning. Music, gymnastics, art and science are thoughtfully interwoven into each classroom’s curriculum, as are practical life skills such as brushing teeth, combing hair and getting dressed. Judit also emphasizes the importance of diversity. Every year TMA hosts an International Day with the children and parents to see and experience different cultures and customs right in their classroom. Judit is extremely proud of Triangle Montessori and the fact that every teacher at TMA is AMS certified. Most importantly however, Judit is proud that TMA exemplifies the spirit of peace and inclusiveness embodied in the teachings of Maria Montessori:"Culture and education have no bounds or limits; now man is in a phase in which he must decide for himself how far he can proceed in the culture that belongs to the whole of humanity."
